I have been knitting prayer patches for Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes and am attaching a cross to each with embroidery flossI love the colors and they seem durable. I had looked at wooden ones but glad I saw these.

Great, but smelly (UPDATE)
These crosses are nice for being plastic. They look the same on both front and back, which is nice. It will be fun to match the colorful crosses with fabrics when I make pocket prayer squares. The only downside is they had a super strong unpleasant odor when I opened the packaging. I have them in a bowl with baking soda hoping that will help. If not, I will try washing them with soap. Will let you know how it goes.UPDATE:I took the bowl with the crosses and baking soda – added water and Dawn dish soap stirred it up and let it sit for about an hour. I would stir it in between that time. I rinsed the crosses well and dried them. Most of the odor was gone. I spread them out and let them air dry for a couple of days and now they are odor free.
