    Resting the meat
    I used the blanket to rest a pork shoulder. After 2 hours the temp dropped from 204 to 180. The pulled pork was tender and juicy.

    It’s ok
    Not as thick as I thought I thought it would be. The outside is also plastic like material not cloth. It is like a very thin insulated cooler. There is also seams in the bag that aren’t done super well. Makes me worried that some meat juices could seep into the other layers.Besides a few issues it is a good size

    Works really well, doesn’t take up as much space as a cooler
    I have now used this to hold a brisket, pork ribs, and a dino rib, each at different times. It has done well each time, being much more insulated than I expected it to be. It holds the heat well, but not like an oven. It is easy to wipe clean after use, but I do suggest being careful to not make a huge mess inside of it. The zippers have been easy to use. I don’t know that I will ever use the handles to move it with meat in it, I just carry it around on a sheet tray if I need to move it. It has held a 14lb brisket so far, with summer coming I’ll be testing it on larger ones.

    Better than old towels
    The barbeque gurus all tell you it is important to rest cooked meat at a low temperature for several hours, but most people do not have dedicated meat warmers that restaurants have. A good workaround is to use old towels and toss the meat into a cooler, but to really be effective, an insulated blanket that can be zipped up is what is needed. This particular resting blanket is made of several layers of insulation, with a thick aluminized lining on the inside, and a Tyvek exterior.I tried the blanket on an eighteen pound brisket and it can still be zipped together. To get the full hot box effect, I tossed the blanket with the brisket into a cooler and pulled it out four hours later. I was somewhat surprised to find the brisket was still smoking hot when I pulled it out of the blanket, and it very juicy and delicious. Some of the juices from the meat leaked into the bag, but I found it was easy to clean with the aluminum liner. I just hosed it down and hung it up to dry, and it was ready to use again the next day.Overall, I really like this barbeque blanket. It works well to keep meat warm and is easy to clean. I would recommend it to any brisket enthusiast.
