Great shorts
I am currently travelling in the Philippines where it is super hot. The shorts are fantastic. The pockets are deep and I can fit my wallet and passport in the front zipper. My large phone fits in the normal pocket as well. The shorts are comfortable and don’t get wet when sweating. These will be the only shorts I buy from now on.

The Perfect Shorts
I am extremely picky about my pants/shorts so it takes a truly well engineered piece of clothing to meet my expectations; these are the only model of shorts I will ever order again because they have EVERYTHING I am looking for.Here are the things I look for in the perfect pair that these provide: the cargo pocket is flush with the outside leg of the pant so it doesn’t look like a big bulky cargo pocket – the main side pocket openings runs horizontal instead of vertical so your phone/stuff doesn’t fall out when you sit down – the side pockets are deep enough to fully fit my phone but not so deep that my stuff knocks against my front thigh or knee – the back pockets have velcro so I dont have to worry about my wallet falling out – the belt loops are properly spaced so that my carabiner key ring isn’t all the way on my butt or all the way forward by the zipper – the material is sturdy but breathable (not to heavy and not too light) – they dry quick if they get wet and water beads on the surface preventing stains – the fabric has some stretch so they don’t restrict my movement if I’m hiking or squatting working on my car.Like I said: I’m picky about my pants. These shorts meet all of my needs and I bought several more pairs in all available colors so that I’m set for years. They’re just the right length so they don’t look like baggy skater shorts but not so short that they’re like grandpa shorts. I highly recommend these to anyone else who is as picky about their shorts as I am (as a side note the Eddie Bauer Rainier long pants are equally great and I have like 5 pairs of those too for when it’s winter).

Comfortable shorts with good pockets
These are great shorts. They are very comfortable, and have good pockets. They are not supposed to be athletic shorts, but I have taken to wearing them when I run because they allow for good movement and comfortably hold a phone without it bouncing around.

Comfortable, but those velcro’ed back pockets!
I like the fit and color range of these shorts and they’re cool in hot weather – you don’t tend to sweat as much around the waist. Four stars are for the velcro’ed back pockets, which are a pain to open and close.

I wore these all over Chile on my vacation, as I also really liked the pant version. Very comfortable, easy to keep clean, and to wash while traveling. In the pockets there’s this little spot for your thumb while you’re whole hand is inside. What a fun feature. Highly recommend. Size fits perfectly.

Quality shorts!
Great pair of shorts made with quality materials (Nylon v Polyester). Pockets are well designed with easy access, zippers on side slash pocket and velcro closure on rear pockets. Fit is true to specifications. I was looking for a pair of shorts to alternate on an active vacation with my Prana shorts, but didn’t want to drop $100. These were a great choice and I highly recommend them.
