Wonderful Devotional Guide
I have read several books about women in the Bible and done a few Bible studies about them. This devotional guide is very different. With the way the readings are written, they literally make you feel like you are walking in the shoes of these women. Each day is about a different woman in the Bible (although Mary, the mother of Jesus has a few days devoted to her story). The day’s reading begins with cultural context and a story putting you right there with the woman at the moment. The readings speak to my empath. The next section is a scripture passage about the woman, then review questions and the last section is about how this woman’s story applies to us today. Before moving on to the next day, there is a prompt with space for journaling and art and a few passages of scripture listed for digging deeper. I am not finished with this devotional guide yet, but I absolutely love it and will be buying several of these to give as gifts. The most difficult part of this book is to stop at that day – though, if you don’t have time to read each day, you don’t lose your place as each day is about a different scripture passage. I can already tell that I will be reading this more than once to let it all soak in. I highly recommend this devotional guide – so grab one and sit down with a cup of tea, some soft music, a cozy blanket and a pen and you won’t be disappointed!

Very eye opening book
I enjoyed this book from the very first page. I have finished the book and I wish it could go on and on. Each chapter taught me something, but the second from last chapter brought me to my knees. Sobbing, crying like I have not in many years. And the last chapter made me smile through happy tears. Now, I feel things very, very deeply and always have and maybe some don’t understand my weeping. All I can say is read the book for yourself. Yaweh is so good.

A Thought Provoking Devotional Guide
I am using this devotional guide as a Bible Study tool rather than as a devotional. The daily readings are perfect and help the reader to consider the life of the women featured in each reading. Using this Devotional Guide has been good, I recommend it and am pleased with my purchase.

New eyes and fresh empathy-a must read
I am a huge fan of Shanna Noel’s and Sherri Gragg’s collaborations. This book affirms my interest in any take they offer.The first chapter introduces Eve as a real person with a mother’s heart. We are often taught that her original sin was all of our downfalls. No real investigation needed. Noel and Gragg describe her, instead, as a grieving wife and mother who has lost what matters most to her. We are invited to see her with new eyes and empathy. We have all lost.From Where I Stand also looks at great women of the Bible with a critical and thoughtful examination of what motivates all of us-the good and bad. The cultural context of each story is so important and is woven into each story.This book is a must read for women AND men.

Joy studying the women of the Bible
Loving this beautifully written and designed study. I am digging deeper and getting to know the women of the Bible and how they relate to us today. It’s a study and workbook all in one including thought provoking questions and scripture. I have worked through Shanna Noel’s books before. This one doesn’t disappoint.

Story & Scripture study
I loved this book. I learned some new things about the women of the Bible. 30 days worth. Each day you first read a story which gives you more of an eyewitness account, then read the scripture, then there are questions, an application and a space to write a prayer.The story helped me see and feel what that woman must have been experiencing. For me, it makes it more real and helps me understand what that woman was going through. I did this study with my 15-yr old daughter.
