We usually like to give experiences (dinner, a show, tickets to arboretum or museum, etc) but this went really well with a watercolor picture of the family home. After downsizing to smaller place, the expensive watercolor (etsy!) and frame and this inexpensive family tree variation look great on the wall and are a good reminder of all the people and their experiences in the old family home.
