Gave me my pre-menopause skin back!
Have always had oily skin and never needed a moisturizer…until menopause. I hate the feel of anything on my skin (especially now with hot flashes), don’t like fussy expensive products, etc. but wanted to stay within my clean/no chem lifestyle so I settled on good old coconut oil. Having never used moisturizers before, I had no clue what “fractionated” oil even was but gave it a whirl (after googling) and am glad I did.As I’m not using it on my face, just body, I scented it myself with my essential oils (which was easy since there is no coconut smell to it) and put it in a nice pump decanter on my bathroom vanity.It spreads easily and absorbs into the skin relatively quickly so there is no oily residue floating/shining on top of the skin or getting on my clothes. Just a nice healthy skin glow. My body looked/felt like MY pre-menopause skin again after just a few days.As this is the first brand I tried, I cant comment on whose is better, etc. I’m just happy with this one.

Good Immortelle oil with a very important caveat.
Finally decided to write a review to hopefully spare someone from making the same mistake that I did. I was searching for good Immortelle oil to use in my cosmetics projects. This one was well priced and my order arrived fairly quickly. I was so excited to finally use this until I opened and smelled it.I was expecting a warm, honeyed, slightly herbaceous aroma, but it was very VERY sharp and camphorous instead. It wasn’t until I scoured over the label that I found this oil is made from “Helichrysum Gymnocephalum”. H. Gymnocelphalum is much closer to Eucalyptus in scent profile.The product information even describes the oil as smelling warm, honey-like, and buttery, though that’s only for “Helichrysum Italicum”. While this isn’t a bad oil at all and very high quality, it’s just not the Immortelle I think most are trying to get ahold of.

Throughout my childhood, I always had issues with my skin. It’s never been so bad that passers by double-take, but at the same time I’ve never received a prolonged touch or even a little compliment. My hair, too, was always rather unpleasant. For instance, my nickname in secondary school was “the human pube”, owing to the distinct resemblance of my head to a preteen scrotum that had just about sprouted a handful of kitten whiskers.My leathery and sun-beaten forehead fanned the flames of ridicule further- even Mr Taylor, our graying, mild mannered Geography teacher addressed me every morning as “scrotal recall” (prompted by both the popularity at the time of a similarly named Arnold Schwarzenegger movie, and the likeness of my head to an elderly mans undercarriage that had been dragged a mile through sharp gravel).In any case, I didn’t let these comments bring me down- sticks and stones and all that! Although, when those stones were being hurled at me by my own granddad while he accused me of being a saggy ball bag, it admittedly did hurt, both physically and emotionally. It may have been this episode that prompted me to take action once and for all and buy this product.The most surprising thing about Argan oil is that the results are instant- this lovely little oil not only makes my hair look thicker and healthier, it also moisturizes my skin far better than any cream or lotion. Within a week, my mischievous granddad had stopped teasing me and I have Argan oil to thank for that! (I accidentally dropped some of the oil on my granddads hard-tiled bathroom floor, may he rest in peace).
