    Who really was under review
When I selected this daily devotional bible for men, my first thought was, “ok God, is this a sign?” I didn’t know how to proceed on reviewing a devotional.  Do I compare the author’s work with other devotionals?  Was the author helpful in letting me remember God all through out my busy day? So i had to Google what a devotional is and I came across Ray Deck’s blog that puts an excellent perspective of what a devotional is not:It’s not a doctrinal treatise. It’s not a Bible commentary. It’s not a theological textbook.A devotional is not designed to change your mind; it’s meant to change your heart. This book, as concise as it is in any given day, barely a 2 minute read is exactly that!  It is changing my heart.  Not in a physical way but if anything, it convicts me of the truth.  It directs me to God, to Jesus, to my life…what it is today. There’s 188 pages, each page containing mostly 2 days at a time.  There’s a scripture verse, followed by roughly 4 sentenced 1 page paragraph dedicated to the meditation, very few days dedicated on a full page.  It is not your typical Rick Warren devotional.  Yet, it is packed with spiritual punches!  No beating around the bush on this one. About the authorJonathan Puddle is a Pastor, author, podcaster from Ontario, Canada, originally from New Zealand (cool accent mate!) He quit his day job back in 2018 and became a full time writer. His first book is called You are Enough. He is a husband, father of 3, with a marketing, publishing and technology background prior to writing. He left the church for 10 years and God reeled him back in to serve a congregation of 80 adults as a pastor. Yes, he is highly relatable.ExcerptsDay 6 speaks to me. “God’s word also walks and talks because God’s Word is a person, a human being like you and me”. I imagine Jesus as a person but I personally have difficulty seeing God as a person, next to me. I’ve seen Evan Almighty and that puts it so real. What if he is standing right in front of you, like next to you, talking to you like any human being, and he’s just right in your level? Interestingly, Joan Osborne sang it.Why do I recommend itThis is not about the author, this is not about the book either. This is about you, and your relationship with God. If you’re looking for something to inspire you and make your day fulfilled or less mundane, and you set your expectation this is the answer to whatever thirst or dryness you got going in your life, this book may, or may not address it, depending on how well you think of yourself as a person. Your not preparing for a bible exam, or find something entertaining or soothing, instead your life is the one under examination…by you. God isn’t judging you or anyone today, in fact this is what this book is about, that God loves you so much, he wants to spend time with you, even for as short as 2 min, and perhaps you get to recognize he’s actually been there with you all day- every day. If you are a very busy person, (or in a lot of drama) this is the kind of interruption you’re more than welcome to have.

    Quick doses of Biblical inspiration
I received this I received this book, Mornings With God: Daily Bible Devotional for Men, to evaluate and review. It arrived in excellent condition and was delivered by the promised date.I was not familiar with the author, Jonathan Puddle, but I am really enjoying these devotionals. They are very short, but they cover a Bible verse followed by a short commentary that helps you to apply the scripture to your life or situation. These compact devotionals will be perfect for some people who are rushed from the minute they wake up until they finally reach the end of their day. It won’t take the place of “real” in-depth daily Bible reading, but this makes it possible to get a taste of Biblical inspiration for people who are short on time. Kind of like having a scripture “snack” in between meals. And the compact size makes it easy to drop in your briefcase or backpack, so you can take it with you. The devotionals are short enough that I am thinking about keeping it in my car so I can read parts of it while waiting in line at a drive through or at a red light (but NOT while driving!). I think this book would make a very good gift as well. The devotionals are not solely written for men alone to relate to, so I think they could be used by couples or families to share during their together time, like at breakfast. My Dad gave it thumbs up, and I like the book, and I recommend it to others. Five stars!

Excellent Book to Start Daily Devotions!
i was really hesitant to purchase this book for my husband. I feel bad saying this but most devotional books I purchase just seem so cheesy and hard to relate too,but this book was different. Book is approximately 200 pages, and has colors coordinating with the color found on the cover of the book. The book starts with Number 1 (#1) instead of a date which I love, because it doesn’t box you in to just starting this devotional guide in January (I don’t know about you but I hate that lol). Each entry starts with a scripture, and gives you a short message that relates and ties in to it. Each entry is also pretty short and you can complete it in 2-3 minutes – enough time to receive a quick message that will help guide and inspire you throughout the day.Another really helpful section in this book, is the fact that the author placed a index in the back, so if you are having a specific problem or issue, you can turn right to the helpful page.Take this from a person who doesnt regulary read devotionals… BUY THIS BOOK!! Please let me know if this review was heplful to you!

Attuned to the sacred masculine within.
This is a beautiful devotional that helps you get through your day with an idea, topic, source of inspiration and wisdom that you can refer to and keep yourself grounded. I got this for my son and he really enjoys it; I recommend this book highly for your loved ones who need more digestible nuggets of Scripture to help them stay positive and focused and Christ-like. Beautifully done.

It’s always good to spend time with God
This is ok, but it is probably not for people who have put in much time studying the Bible. It is good for those just starting their relationship with the Lord, because it gets them in the routine of spending time with the Lord on a dairy basis. I, however, think it is very beginners based. It has the feel of a quickly written book.
