Very nice oil
I ordered this anointing oil more out of curiosity than any other reason. I read about anointing oil in the Bible quite a bit but other than that know nothing about it. When I opened the bottle (which was packed very well) I was expecting a nice spiritual scent since I ordered Spikenard & Frankincense. The only thing I smelled was olive oil. I rubbed a little on my hands and did get a little hint of fragrance, but I don’t know what the fragrance was because it was dominated by the scent of olive oil. The ingredients didn’t list Spikenard or Frankincense just Aromatic oils whatever that may be. Maybe this is how anointing oil is supposed to smell. In the Gospel of John chapter 12 Mary anointed the feet of Jesus with very costly oil of Spikenard, and it said the fragrance of the oil filled the house. Who knows. I like the oil so rather than contemplating the scent I will look at it as a nice little gift from the Holy Land. It did make my hands feel nice and soft.

Smells fantastic, here are the ingredients
I love the feel and smell of this oil. I’ve already used some on a sick family member during prayer.I have the roses as well as the spikenard. Both smell fantastic.I wish the entire label , specifically the ingredients, were shown in the ad.The ingredients are: refined soy oil, sweet almond oil, olive fruit oil, aromatic oils (fragrance), vitamin E oil.I wished Amazon required the ingredients label be shown for every item. The only issue I have is that the ingredients are not organic, and the use of ‘aromatic oils (fragrance)’ lacks clarity. What is the source f the oil? Is it essential oil? extract? chemically produced?Overall, I love the oil!

Spikenard & Frankincense…smells like bubblegum
I am not religious, but I was curious to try this oil for fragrance reasons. The bottle arrived wrapped in clear shrink wrap and in addition to that, there was a plastic plug inside the bottle (difficult to remove) which ensured no leakage whatsoever. The list of ingredients is stated on the back, and it’s basically salad oil, fragrance, and vitamin E as a preservative. I never knew what “spikenard” was before though I have used frankincense both as a perfume oil, incense, and resin, so I definitely know what that smells like. Some googling suggests spikenard is a rare and expensive plant extract. No idea if this is real or synthesized spikenard. For the price I would have to assume it’s probably imitation. When first applied, the scent of this anointing oil is very much like pink bubblegum, think Dubble Bubble. After awhile I detect the frankincense, which smells true to life. It also reminds me of amber. It is not strong or overpowering, but others close to you will be able to lightly smell it. It is equally parts sweet and earthy, according to my own nose.I have been “anointing” myself with this oil multiple times a day both because I enjoy the light scent (which lasts maybe an hour or two) and for its skin conditioning effects. It remains oily for a few minutes after application but eventually just becomes a glow on your complexion. I feel that it is a quality product worth the current price of about $22 and I would purchase again.

well-sealed, but barely-there scent
I was interested to check out the ancient classical scents of spikenard and frankincense. The bottle arrived well-sealed to prevent leakage (with a plastic insert under the cap). However, the oil mostly just smells like olive oil—the fancy scents are barely there. The thought and meaning behind the product is great, but I found the experience disappointing.

Good amount of oil
This oil is a large amount which isn’t always the case for prayer and anointing oil. The texture and consistency is good and can be placed in smaller vials if you want to or need to share it!

Good Option for Anointing and Spiritual Use
This is an 8.45 ounce bottle of anointing oil in the scent of Rose of Sharon. Labeling indicates it’s made from Galilee olive oil and Holy Land botanicals. It indicates that it’s “blessed in the Holy Land” and that the bottle is recycled. It is manufactured in Israel.I will admit I was a bit thrown off by the size of the bottle. For prayer and anointing, one typically uses a smaller bottle or container of some sort. However, this oil is easily transferred to a smaller container for ceremonial use. This oil has a definite light, floral scent to it and applies well but not too heavily. While I wish greater effort had been made in terms of presentation, this bottle is ideal for those who use oil on a regular basis for anointings, prayer, or other spiritual or other purposes. For ceremonies, I’m transferring it to a smaller container that’s a little more dignified. However, this is a good quality oil at a good value and I would definitely consider getting it again.

Has a unique, old world scent and can be used in times of reflection and meditation
I ordered this to be “used in times when you are conflicted, having trouble living up to the standards set forth in the Word, or to rescue you from affliction and help you to rise”. I thought it might be spiritually soothing, and of course, there is the curiosity factor. I had no idea what to expect. The oil comes in a plastic bottle that has a plastic stopper (to prevent leakage) as well as 100% shrinkwrapped. There was zero leakage, impressive. The oil is from Israel, and it is a combination of oils and fragrances. The scent is quite resinous and reminds me of yes, the inside of a church. I applied it to my forearms (not sure if that is how it is done, but I did it) and my husband really liked the scent. I believe the first scent was spikenard, and now the lingering scent is the frankincense.I wouldn’t use this as a body oil or a perfume to ‘smell good’. I would use it in times of quiet meditation, or when in a period of reflection and prayer. There is something to be said for rites and rituals, and this anointing oil may have a place on those occasions.
