The Bible. 365 days. You. Yes, you!
Not the type to sit down and read the entire Bible? Yes, the goal is to read the whole Bible in a year, but think about it in terms of smaller, daily goals. Think about a commitment to read a short selection from the Bible plus a concise devotional every day. You can do that – especially since The Bible Year has it all mapped out for you day by day.
Plus, you’ll also get summaries of key themes and ideas to help you better digest and understand your readings. So you’re not just reading verse after verse, you’re enriching your spiritual life, developing a deeper faith and forming a closer connection to God and to each other.
The Bible Year is also a wonderful way for small groups or even individuals to grow closer to God, while providing a common thread that will promote new and deeper friendships among members. Additional resources sold separately include a Leader Guide with discussion questions for small groups and a Pastor’s Guide for a church-wide emphasis.

Praise for The Bible Year
When it comes to read-through-the-Bible-in-a-year programs, The Bible Year is a game changer. Packed with devotionals, discussion guides, and resources for pastors, this beautifully written book makes journeying through Scripture less daunting and more rewarding. It’s the perfect companion for those who wish to read through the Bible for the first time or those seek to go deeper in their study of Scripture together with others.
– Ryan P. Bonfiglio, Director of the Candler Foundry and Assistant Professor of Old Testament, Candler Theological Seminary
With a pastor’s devotion to God and the people he serves, deVega has structured a truly helpful guide for reading the Bible in the span of a year. The thoughtful format is well designed to encourage steady progress in reading, and provoke thoughtful reflection. Brief section summaries allow the reader to stay on top of the larger story line, and thoughtful questions and blank spaces support a meditative encounter. This book is a welcome gift for anyone who wants to grow in faithfulness and devotion.
– Melody D. Knowles, Vice President of Academic Affairs and Associate Professor of Old Testament, Virginia Theological Seminary

Reading the Bible daily is life-changing. It impacts attitude, gives us insight, calls out our best inclinations, and helps us make good decisions. We literally encounter God in the revelation of scripture. The problem is not if we should read the Bible, but how to keep the promise we have made to make it a habit. Margrey deVega offers us a way to accomplish our goal. Short readings with a devotional guide that help us understand the material and consider what the text is saying to our lives will make this a perfect fit as you let the bible speak to your life.

Most of us honor the Bible, but few of us have actually read it…all of it! If we try, we often give up somewhere in Leviticus. The Bible Year challenges individuals, small groups and entire congregations to read the Bible – all of it! – in one year. It’s the resource we need to open our minds, stretch our imaginations, and inspire our hearts as the same Holy Spirit who inspired the written word enables it to become the living Word in our lives. Take the challenge! You’ll be glad you did!

The word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. Again and again, we are reminded of our need for guidance and grounding, and especially in times of crisis and chaos. It turns out that a year of immersion in the stories of the Bible helps us to see our stories in a new light—there is provision, there is purpose, there is hope. This is how we make disciples for the transformation of the world. This is how the church is revived and renewed. I am deeply grateful to Magrey deVega and the people of Hyde Park. And I am deeply hopeful that many will rediscover this ancient path.

– Bishop Ken Carter, Author, God Will Make a Way.

    This Book WORKS!
This book is your coach to help you read the entire Bible from cover to cover. It really works because it breaks the reading into easy-to-digest daily chunks and gives you a sense of achievement when you check each one off. I just finished, and I am amazed at how easy The Bible Year made the daunting task of reading the whole Bible.

Made reading the entire Bible easy
I had always wanted to read the whole Bible, but it seemed like a daunting task. With The Bible Year the daily segments were do-able and became a routine part of my day. I learned so much and had such a better grasp of the history and events that have shaped Christianity and Judaism. I understand more about the scripture that is referenced in sermons, and can even answer Jeopardy questions! I am so happy that I invested in The Bible Year.

Great inspiration to look forward to daily
I loved the Bible Year Devotional. It encouraged the discipline of being engaged in the Bible every day. I enjoyed reading the Bible chronologically, and especially the way the devotional was laid out, providing the text for each day along with meditation and prayer. Some parts were tough and longer than others, but all contributed to my expanding knowledge and most importantly, my deep relationship with God. I was sorry when it ended.

    Not what I thought
Not a standalone book. It doesn’t really have instructions and I fi ally figured out its like a daily study guide for reading the Bible directly. So be prepared to also have a Bible handy and read it daily .
