Goes with the Daily Chronological Bible
The 5 stars is for the book itself, but not the physical appearance of the book. The book is what I wanted, but my comments about the seller/shipping were too long for the space: It was rated as Very Good, but I would have only rated it as Fair. On the inside cover, it looked like the book had been pulled from somebody’s attic and had crushed bugs on the page. The inside binding is raggedy and the outside of the pages were all splashed, possibly with water leaks from the attic. One corner of the hard outside binding was pushed in which could have come from shipping because it was only in a Tyvek bag, no padding to protect it. I do not understand why it took 17 days to get from Missouri to Pennsylvania. I was not in a rush for it, but still, it shouldn’t have taken that long. Each page has a title, Scripture key verse, 2 paragraphs of devotional thoughts, and a question to think about. I won’t be starting this until the beginning of 2017 to go along with the Daily Chronological Bible by the same author.

Daily devotions that make a real difference
One of the statements that I have heard most in my life from Christians is that they struggle in understanding the Old Testament and why it is so important relative to the New Testament. About 12 years ago, I found the best help in answering that question when I discovered Dr. LaGard Smilth’s “The Daily Bible In Chronological Order.” This inspired compilation of scripture and commentary is a must for every Christian. Admittedly, the chronology revealed may in some cases be arguable, but the intent and logic of it are invaluable to the reader’s understanding. I have now read through the Bible each year since finding this volume, and it is more exciting and rewarding every successive year. Now, my wife and I are enjoying a complementary work by Dr. La Gard Smith entitled “The Daily Bible Devotional.” This wonderful book makes the intent and life-changing truths woven into the Old Testament so vital and applicable to one’s life today. What is particularly useful in each day’s devotional enlightenment is the question to ponder with which the author ends each day’s devotional thought. I am a Christian layman, not a pastor, and I prayerfully encourage all readers of this review to obtain these two volumes and powerfully nurture your daily faith walk. You will not be disappointed.

    Awesome – It’s addictive!
Have never found a better devotional book than this. To get the most out of it, purchase LaGard Smith ‘The Daily Bilbe in Chronological Order – 365 Daily Readings’. This bible is set up to get thru the bible in 1 year – & understand it! This devotional book supplements the daily readings and takes what you just read (from the bible) and applies it to your life today. That can be a challenge, especially when reading the Old Testament, but LaGard Smith does an awesome job of doing just that! If you really want to not only read the bible, but learn from it, every day, this devotional is for you! I give a copy of the LaGard Smith The Daily Bible ad LaGard Smith Daily Bible Devotional to every new Christian. Everyone I have ever given it to loves them both, of how easy they are to read and understand.

    Well-written observations throughout
The minimal comments interspersed with the text add just enough of the editor’s knowledge and insight to enhance the reader’s appreciation of God’s word. No doubt he could have written more from his own perspective and depth of knowledge, but instead he says just enough.

    A Great Daily Devotion
I purchased the Daily Bible Devotional to complement the Daily Chronological Bible that I have. It is a one-page devotion, and I believe that it enhances the day’s reading from the Daily Bible. At the end of the devotion, it asks a pointed question that makes one think. I am very glad that I purchased it.When I awake each morning, I cannot wait to read from the Daily Bible and then finish with the reading from the Daily Bible Devotion. Both have really helped me in spending time with the Lord. With the Daily Bible, I was able to read the WHOLE Bible in a year. I had never accomplished that before. I feel that the addition of the devotional also in chronological order will further my experience with the Lord.

    I bought the wrong book.
I have the chronological Bible written by this same author. I love it and wanted one for my sister. Unfortunately I didn’t realize I was buying a daily devotional. I tried to return but I guess I waited to long. Oh well.
