Perfect for those who are growing in the Word
My son is 8 and going into the third grade. This book is perfect for his reading level. The daily devotions are perfect and are easy to relate to. The common scenarios make it easy for my son to see how he could apply the Word into his life and daily interactions. It gives him something to think about how he can modify his behavior. It doesn’t beat the kids over the head with “Be like Christ or you’re going to hell”…but more so of “Here’s how you can prevent certain negatives consequences by thinking in advance” and lots of “Here’s a way to be a decent human”… I enjoy reading the devotionals at night. Because they are brief, it’s not a cumbersome task and my son looks forward to doing it. If you have a Hubby like man who isn’t a man of many words, I sometimes have him read the devotional with Jake. It’s really a good family bonding experience. I’ve even had my 18 stepdaughter help with his devotional. It’s a good way to get everyone to spend some quality one on one time in the Word with my son. I love it.

Great lessons.
We have three boys ranging from 5-11 yrs old. We wanted something to add to our daily routines to keep God first. We are really busy with school, sports, and Church. My wife bought this book and the very first lesson we used was perfect for my boys. Covered how to treat each other and that how you act is echoed back too you. Perfect!

Hands Down, A Must Have For Growing Grade School Boys!
We’ve graduated our 2 boys into this Devotions for Boys book, they needed a more challenging collection of devotions and this book is packed with older grade school scenarios, thought provoking and sensitive material, like..July 21st devotion that reads about Mark’s new neighbor who just got out of prison and the lessons of forgiveness and people judging other people. At the bottom of each devotional is a HOW ABOUT YOU series of questions that asks application questions and discussion prompts to discuss with parents and kids. This is a great way to have one on one time with your kids and find out exactly what’s going on in their lives. Also, a related Bible Verse and reference is listed, for those of us who don’t always have our Bible as handy as it should be. I like the way this devotional is organized, the contents page lists each topic by month and the lesson for each day so you can either do the assigned day’s devotional or go to the contents page and pick a specific topic to cover with your child that he/she is struggling with at the moment. If you have boys that know the basics but need some polishing around the edges, this is the book for you! I’d recommend this book to boys above 8 years old and maybe through age 15.

Great devotional for young men!
I got this for my 9 year old, and he really likes it. It’s one page per day with a story (modern, easy to relate to), a “How About You?” section that provides thought-provoking questions to start a conversation or just make them see how the story relates to them, a Bible memory verse, and a lesson title. It also includes a section of the Bible to read before the story at the top. It takes 5-10 mins but the lessons really stick with my son. It’s perfect for 9 to 13 or 14 year olds.

Good Devotions book
Boys can understand the premise of what we are trying to teach them about being good people and faithful Christians. The general premise is that it gives a short fictional story and relates it to a Bible passage. There are then a few follow up questions to talk about.I only gave it 4 (would be 4.5) stars because some of the stories were just pretty bland. I would go to the month/day for the devotion and read it prior to giving it only to change devotions and find another story. I would still recommend it to anyone looking for a good devotions book for younger boys as most of them are still pretty good.

Wonderful Book, My Son looks forward to every night!
This book of devotions, especially for boys has been a wonderful addition to our lives, and has helped me to instill christian values and character in my son in a way that he enjoys, and looks forward to. He is so enthusiastic, and pulls the book out on his own every night. He is eager to read the discussion questions, and actively engages in discussion. Often the scripture reading leads us into even broader discussions about God and his message and promise to us…and all that entails. I am very pleased to have this book, and will recommend it to anyone raising young boys.

A Great Devotional for young boys.
I bought this so my seven year old son and I could have daily devotions together. The scenarios are great for young people to relate to. You should have a Bible to accompany the devotional, as each devotional refers to a Bible passage or verse which is not provided in the devotional. This is actually better because it helps my son learn to locate Bible verses. It is a great devotional! My son actually looks forward to it each day. I highly recommend.

My son loves it and it is a wonderful guide for a child seeking to live according to God’s will. We use it for family devotion as well as the insights are very useful for adults as well. My 2 boys love it and look forward to reading a new story each day. I have purchased 2 for friends and family and recommended the girls’ devotion to friends.
