This basswood plaque had a nice shape and was of decent size for mounting the antlers my dad and I wanted to mount.The plaque is unfinished and because it’s laminated and has a few pieces put together and being basswood? Staining or using some kind of finish is probably best.The edges are a bit rough where it was shaped with the router. But a bit of sand paper could help dress that up.

Mounted a Mandalorian
A few of the guys in the sales team at work had over the years brought in their hunting trophies to mount on their office walls.. Deer heads, antlers, ducks on the wing.. etc.. So when I finally moved out of the developers cubicle sea to my own office, I wanted to put something impressive on my wall. Not being a hunter myself, I didn’t have any animal trophies to hang, but I am a nerd who enjoys mocking the sales weasels. I have a Boba Fett head (from star wars) wall decoration I had gotten as a gift, but had no where to put it at home. So I painted this wooden plaque a rich brown and mounted the head onto that. It looks great on the wall behind me as I sit with confidence at my desk.

Well, it travelled a long way. Shame about the 1-2mm X 4″ crack from the bottom apex toward the shield center. I am not worried as I have plans for the shield which will not detract from its flaws.

This shield was just what I wanted I have given a score of 4 stars only because I had to sand it quite a bit to be able to stain it to the colour I wanted, otherwise it is a great buy.
