As parents hoping to raise godly children, we may understand the importance of regular family devotions. However, we may find it difficult to get our kids (or even ourselves) fully engaged. But what if devotions looked less like sitting in the living room listening to someone read and trying to pry answers out of reluctant kids and more like, say, electrocuting a pickle? Or converting a leaf blower into a toilet paper launcher? Or lighting toothpaste on fire?
These hands-on, kinda dangerous, totally unforgettable object lessons (along with nearly fifty others) are not only more fun than other family devotions–they actually deliver the spiritual impact you desire for your kids. They’ll even get dads and any too-cool-for-this-stuff teens jazzed about a weekly family devotional time.
So put away the flannelgraph, get out the safety goggles, and start bringing the truths of Scripture to vivid life in your household. Just remember to change out of your Sunday clothes first.

Great ideas!
We have loved doing these Bible studies with by 9 and 3 year old so far. It’s so nice to be able to engage them in something fun and then have a Christ centered message along with it.

You should totally get this.
I love this book. We are on week five, and preparing for week six. It does take a little prep, but not as much as I thought it would. I I have put some money into it, but you wouldn’t have to spend any. You could borrow, or make due with things you have. The trade off of what you get out of it is totally worth it. I think it would be ideal for older kids, but my nearly eight, and nearly twelve year old, look forward to it every week as do my husband and myself. The lessons are fun, as well as impactful and inspiring. I’m grateful I gave this one a chance, and grateful for the author sharing his ideas and experience. I like it so much I bought one for my brother, and will probably give some more as presents. 👍👍

Great book, but a lot of work
I ain’t gonna lie. I sent it back. The activities look like a lot of fun and the biblical connections are cool, but in the end, there was too much prep to have fun.

Engaging for kids 6-teenage years
This book is awesome. It has lots of activities that are fun for kids but still allows to give your children little nuggets of Bible lessons. Super awesome to keep kids of age levels engaged

Not bad.
Cool concept but some ideas take alot of prep and requires items that some people just don’t have. Good book to grab some ideas for family devotion.

Fun for all
Well.. the lessons may be a little long for some our kiddos attention spans, the activities are spot on! So far the electrocution of the pickle has been the best hit. I’m certain that many of these lessons will provide memories for years to come.
